The Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) is a state level nonprofit organization that has proven its capacity as a state and national resource in responding to the needs of battered women, men and children. Currently, there are 25 direct service domestic violence member programs across the state. ICADV staff provide training, counseling, community outreach, program management, and technical support for the member programs, professionals and the community. ICADV administers several program including but not limited to State Certification of Domestic Abuse Programs and Advocates, Legal Assistanc to Victims, the Skylark Project, AmeriCorps, and Housing and Economic Justice.

The program pays for crime-related expenses such as medical care, counseling, lost wages, and funeral expenses (when costs are not covered by insurance or other sources). The program can also pay for crime-scene clean-up, replacement of clothing held as evidence, replacement of security items, child or dependent care, and travel.

IOVA pursues awareness of and support for crime victims rights in Iowa by: 
- Advocating for short and long term changes in the criminal justice system to better meet the needs of victims and witnesses. 
- Educating professionals to provide more sensitive services to victims and witnesses. 
- Advocating for quality victim services through the establishment of a professional certification program for victim service professionals in Iowa. 
- Provide a forum for crime victims and witnesses to voice their concerns and grievances.

In Iowa, we have 24 member programs that provide services directly to sexual assault survivors. Through the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault (IowaCASA), we provide training, support and technical assistance for these statewide programs.All sexual assault advocates at our member programs in the state are certified through IowaCASA. We maintain continuing education programs for advocates while providing training to additional statewide entities that work with survivors of sexual assault. This includes working with Iowa Legal Aid, the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), the Iowa Board for the Treatment of Sex Offenders, and others as needed. We also receive funding from the Iowa Department of Public Health to coordinate sexual violence prevention work in the state by subcontracting with local programs, all of which helps us build their capacity to lead community-based prevention efforts.
