LowaCASA

In Iowa, we have 24 member programs that provide services directly to sexual assault survivors. Through the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault (IowaCASA), we provide training, support and technical assistance for these statewide programs. All sexual assault advocates at our member programs in the state are certified through IowaCASA. We maintain continuing education programs for advocates while providing training to additional statewide entities that work with survivors of sexual assault. This includes working with Iowa Legal Aid, the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), the Iowa Board for the Treatment of Sex Offenders, and others as needed. We also receive funding from the Iowa Department of Public Health to coordinate sexual violence prevention work in the state by subcontracting with local programs, all of which helps us build their capacity to lead community-based prevention efforts.
