Kentucky's Crime Victims Compensation Board (CVCB)
The Crime Victims Compensation Board decides compensation claims from survivors of violent crime who have no other resources to pay for the medical, funeral, mental health counseling, and dental or corrective lens expenses resulting from the crime. Assistance can also include lost wages of the survivor or loss of support for someone dependent on the victim. When awarded, payments are made directly to service providers or can be reimbursements to victims or Claimants. The Board's goal is to provide not only the above-mentioned assistance but also to show empathy to survivors during a particularly traumatic time.
Office of Victim Services Kentucky Department of Corrections
The Victim Services Branch (VSB) is committed to assisting victims and survivors throughout the duration of the offender's incarceration and supervision. We ensure that crime victims are treated with dignity and respect. A victim's need for assistance does not stop once an offender has been sentenced. In fact, it continues throughout an offender's incarceration and supervision.
If you are a victim of a crime, please contact our office to ensure you are registered for assistance.

KCADV
There are fifteen regional domestic violence centers in Kentucky. In addition to providing a safe, secure shelter for victims/survivors and their children, these centers offer a variety of support services to both residents and non-residents. Domestic violence center staff support survivors by:
- Accompanying survivors to court, helping them understand their legal options, and connecting them to legal resources.
- Offering individual counseling, support groups, and supportive children’s services.
- Providing case management, safety planning, self-sufficiency planning/services, and referrals to other community resources.
The centers are also working to prevent future domestic violence through community education, increasing public awareness, and prevention programs. Centers are working with schools, local professionals, and community groups to increase understanding of domestic violence issues.
